In the U.S., more than 80,000 people are currently waiting for a
transplant, and a new name is added to the list every 22 minutes.
Unfortunately, because not enough people donate, many of the
people on the waiting list end up waiting months or years for a
transplant. Worse yet, many never make it. (See "How many
