1. The kidneys make urine...
After filtering wastes out of the blood, the kidneys remove them from the body by producing urine. Urine is 95% water and 5% wastes from the metabolism of proteins, plus urea (which contains nitrogen), uric acid, salts and other substances the body needs to get rid of.

2. The ureters (tubes) carry it to the bladder...

3. The bladder holds urine until it's time to go...
Urine collects in the bladder, a sac with a sphincter
muscle at the bottom to control the release of urine.
When the bladder contracts, the sphincter relaxes
and urine is released into the urethra. An adult's bladder
holds about 10 ounces (0.3 liter) of urine.

4. Urine exits the body through the urethra
(another tube). A healthy adult makes about 2 quarts (1.9 liters) of urine a day.
